DIY Lace Bunny Ears for $5

I put together a quick tutorial on how to make lace bunny ears. If you are anything like me then you do not have a halloween costume yet and you don't want to spend a lot of money on something you will only wear once or twice. While I was cleaning out my closet the other day I found a long sleeve, v-neck maxi dress and decided that I would incorporate it into a costume. I saw these bunny ears online and thought it would go hand in hand! If you have most of the supplies at home this should cost you only $5 to make! Use whatever you have at home for the rest of the costume.

Supplies:
-Black Pipe Cleaners
-Black Lace Fabric
-Black Headband
-Scissors
-Hot Glue Gun
-Needle
-Black Thread

Step 1: Take 2 pipe cleaners and twist together at one end.

Step 2: I cut a pipe cleaner in half and twisted each piece onto the ends to have some extra to twist around the headband. Make sure you don't add too much extra to the ears or they will be too heavy to stand up on their own.

Step 3: Take the ends of the pipe cleaner and put on either side of the headband. Make sure you have some extra at the end. Twist the pipe cleaners on either side of the headband.

Step 4: Untwist the bottom to remove from the headband. Leave the top. Thread the needle.

Step 5: Place a piece of the lace fabric down with the pipe cleaners laying on top.

Step 6: Place another piece of fabric on top of the pipe cleaner.

Step 7: Start at the bottom and sew the fabric and the pipe cleaner together. Don't take too much time doing this but make sure it is secure for the most part. Secure the bottom area then tie off. Do the same thing around the pipe cleaner until secure.

Step 8: Cut the excess fabric off around the pipe cleaner leaving a little extra on the ends.

Step 9: Do the same thing over again for the other ear. Place on the headband and twist the pipe cleaners to reattach and fold excess around the headband. (my ears were different sizes so I bent one to look like it is flopping...see photos below)

Step 10: optional...use the excess fabric to make a mini veil.
Measure the length from ear to ear and cut a piece of fabric like shown above.

Step 11: Use a hot glue gun to attach the veil to the top of the headband.
This is also a good time to secure the fabric anywhere that was not sewn. Just put some glue in between the fabric pieces and let dry.

Lastly, try on and cut the veil to the length desired!

 And you are done!

Happy Halloween!!

Plaid Equals Fall + An Indiegogo Product!

I am all about being stylishly comfortable, especially with colder weather. Anything paired with leggings falls in that category for me, so, when I found this tunic that is also plaid I got super excited! The leggings are nylon and have a shine to them which makes them a little dressier than your everyday cotton. I just purchased the booties and they are so comfortable, I love the light color especially for a darker outfit like this (I purchased a half a size up). Links are below to purchase this look. This dress is almost sold out so I linked a few similar dresses!

Keep scrolling to check out details on an awesome Indiegogo product that I cannot wait to get my hands on!

It is a combination of a phone stand and a travel battery. The cable is removable so it can also be used at home but is perfect for when you are traveling and do not have a way to charge your phone. They have iPhone and android options and it is super compact as well. Chicago Wedding

This past weekend we were in Chicago for a wedding, which was so beautiful!
Coincidentally the Chicago marathon was the same weekend so we were able to cheer on Steve's brother who ran it and did an amazing job. In-between those events we were able to spend some time with friends in the city and the weather was absolutely perfect! We were running late to the wedding so pardon the photos, but the links are below to purchase the look.

Fall Floral

It is that time of year again...weddings one weekend after another! It is so fun to see friends and family tying the knot. That is exactly what I did on Sunday when I watched my beautiful cousin, Jess, get married. A couple hours before the wedding the sun came out over the golf course at the Architects Golf Club making it the most beautiful day in New Jersey! This romper was perfect for the occasion, it had sheer sleeves, a lace trim (which totally elevated it) and it was the perfect fall floral. Everything about this look was feminine and girly and that is exactly why I love it so much! As it gets colder I will be adding stockings and closed toe booties to wear it again in a different way.

Links below to purchase the look!

Next up...a wedding in Chicago!

Charm City Makeup Studio

Last night my amazing friend, Sasha, set up a makeup lesson with her equally amazing makeup artist friend, Natasha Ivchankova. I have always wanted to do something like this to learn new techniques, debunk the myths I have heard about makeup application throughout the years and learn from an expert. Natasha was so inviting and her studio, the Lash and Lip Bar, was a makeup lovers dream! While drinking champagne and learning about smokey eyes, highlighting and contouring I had such a fun night with some amazing friends. Natasha does weddings, photoshoots, group makeup parties, individual sessions and much more! You can even schedule an appointment before you go out to have her do your lashes and lips...just show up with the rest of your makeup on, how fun is that?!  Check out her website and give her Facebook page a 'like' to see what she is up to...links are below.
