Vacation Photo Diary

We went on a cruise through Royal Caribbean on the Grandeur of the Seas to Bermuda out of Baltimore for 7 days. It was such an amazing experience and I am so thankful that Steve's parents took us along for their 35th wedding anniversary trip! Below is a photo diary of my favorite parts of the trip along with a couple outfits with links to purchase. Enjoy!

Vintage Jewelry

My favorite jewelry pieces are those that have been handed down to me, and some of them I wear all the time. Not only is it a daily reminder of my Grandmothers, on both sides of my family, but it is also so cool to know that these treasures have been around for so long. Mixing my vintage pieces with newer pieces creates such a unique look that no one else can replicate and that, to me, is style.

After my Grandmother's passing we all looked through her jewelry and a couple pieces immediatley stood out to me. Those are the ones I kept as a reminder of the Angel who is watching over me now. My Mom has always talked about how fashionable her Mother was and how it skipped a generation (haha). Below are my two favorite pieces that I inherited. I wear the ring everyday and the necklace occasionally.
When this ring was appraised during my freshman year at college we learned that the artesian created it in Arizona. Coincidentally I went to school at Arizona State University which makes me feel even more connected to the piece. I get compliments on the ring all the time and I love telling this story.

This necklace is so beautiful, each of the stones are delicately placed and the colors are amazing. The closure on the back is circular, covered with stones and is magnetic! It is a real piece of art that I am honored to have in my collection.

My paternal Grandmother gave me these earrings. They were hers when she was younger and since we have the same initials it was the perfect Christmas gift. These were one of the best gifts I have ever received because there is so much history behind them. Monogramming has become so popular again the past couple of years that they are back in style!

Along with my vintage pieces I also cherish some pieces that my mom has given me throughout the years. Each has a special meaning and a story behind them. The 'h' necklace was one of the first, it is from Tiffany and still a favorite of mine. She bought me the turquoise ring when we were in New Mexico for Thanksgiving a couple of years ago and it is the perfect compliment to my vintage ring.

If you are interested in checking out vintage jewelry CLICK HERE. Invaluable.com has some amazing pieces that you can bid for on their online auction.

Below are some blog posts with me wearing these pieces...I will have to wear the statement necklace in a future post!

A Little Lace

When I found this top I knew I had to share it because it is the perfect top for the perfect price, $34! What is even better, it comes in four different colors; ivory, black, olive and rose. I opted for olive (it is more of a sea foam if you ask me) because it adds to my wardrobe and it looks great with white pants. But for the price you cannot go wrong with grabbing a couple colors! Throw this top on for an efforlessly chic look. The lace trim along the bottom is a fun added detail. Click the link below to view the top online!

Happy Shopping!
HUGE thank you to James Davis for taking these photos, check out his site Rjdavisii.smugmug.com!!

Imagination, Transformation!

It is so easy to just get rid of something that doesn't fit or serve its original purpose anymore, but it is so much fun to make it into something else that you can wear over and over again! I wore a navy long sleeve lace dress to my cousin's wedding (photo with my family below) a couple of years ago, perfect for the event and a great buy...

A couple years later I put it on again for another event to find that it was way too short, so I made it into something new...a top! It was so easy, all I had to do was shorten the hem to a top length. Now I have a new piece that I didn't have before!

After transforming my dress into a top I was thinking about all the other things I could do to transform my clothes! I will be sharing the transformations on here with you guys! If you have an article of clothing that you would like made into something new but cannot do it yourself let me know! Think of the possibilities!

Happy 1st Birthday Invisible Crowne!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Today my blog is one year old! Thank you so much for following my fashion journey through 2014. I can't wait to keep it going through 2015 and continue to do giveaways, tutorials and much more!!(keep scrolling and reading for my first giveaway for 2015)

The weather is definitely starting to change and get colder so going outside with just a jacket is not going to cut it. You need to have the basics covered; ears, neck and hands to stay warm and to be able to last out there!
My coat is by Andrew Marc, I love it because of its mixed media! I can dress it up or down so it is perfect for any occasion! It is from South Moon Under but not on the website so contact me if you are interested and I will try to find it for you!

Same thing with the headband! It is not listed on southmoonunder.com but I can find it for you if you are interested. It also came in navy and wine!

Madewell Booties

5 Winter Essentials

Five Winter Essentials

With winter's approach there are a couple pieces that you must have to be functionally stylish. Being appropriate, warm and fashionable for the weather is key to getting through the cold and snow season. There are always a few new pieces you need to add into your existing winter wear to update and polish your looks. While researching online for my new winter essentials I found Raise.com, a sight that has discounted gift cards from any retail you can think of and you can also get cash for your unwanted gift cards. Check out their website to discover discounts, deals and to start selling! Click the links below...

My first must have is a riding boot. You can wear it with leggings, jeans, skirts or dresses and they always look great. Riding boots are comfortable, fashionable and a great winter staple!

My second must have is a skinny pant that can also be worn as a leggings. These Rag and Bone black pants do just that, they are soft and and are a perfect fit and go with any length top.

My third winter essential is a poncho. All you have to do is wear a tank underneath and you have your outfit. It is a great change from the everyday sweater and it is so comfortable and warm.

My fourth essential is a red lip. Seeing that my outfit is so neutral I wanted to add a pop of color, it really added to my look. Winter time can get a little dreary so this is a great way to brighten it up!

Lastly, an everyday bag is a must. During the winter we need to carry around gloves, hats ect. so this Kate Spade quilted purse will be on my arm all winter long. I bought this bag last year on Cyber Monday and it is still one of my favorites!

What are some of your winter essentials?!
