Outerwear Love

Happy Friday! My best friend (and bridesmaid) from college is making her way to Baltimore from Chicago right now and I am so excited to see her. She is a flight attendant so she pops into town every once in a while! We are going to go to DC tomorrow and participating in the Women's March, it is totally outside of my comfort zone but best friends don't let best friends travel to a unfamiliar city alone, so I am going to go and see what it is all about. I do not know what to expect but I am going with an open mind and I hope the experience is one that helps me become better informed, educated and more understanding of what I can do to make a difference. Let me know if you will be there as well!
This jacket is a perfect staple piece, it is neutral and matches everything. It is appropriate for the spring, fall and winter months which makes it so versatile! I might even wear it to DC tomorrow, it is great for layering! The best part is that it is on sale, it is now only $49, such a great price for a beautifully constructed jacket! It also comes in black and on sale for $52! I got this plaid blanket scarf when I worked in retail a few years ago and it is still one of  my favorites! It is hard to see in these photos but the white top I have on has a pleated peplum detail, it is a little bit longer and really cute. It comes in a few different colors too! This whole look is linked below! I hope you have a great weekend!

Back to Basics

As much as I love a good dress and heels there is something I also love about a basic tank top, jeans and heels. I was headed out to dinner with the girls and had not thought much about an outfit, put this look together and off I went. I knew this statement necklace would be the piece to add a little something to this look and this beautifully colored heel tied it together. I am all about being comfortable and this look is just that, especially since I was able to go braless! This tank is basically bodycon so it really holds everything in, it is only $30 and comes in white as well. It is also perfect for underneath other clothing in the colder months so this basic is a must have! These jeans are under $100 and such a great buy, they fit true to size and I have been wearing them all year round! These heels are flawless: the color, fit, feel, everything is just so perfect. They are definitely worth the price tag of $70.

Boot Cut or Bust?

Headed outside my fashion box again. Since fashion week I have seen boot cut jeans becoming popular again. I am a skinny jeans girl all the way, that is really all I have ever worn except for maybe a straight leg here and there. I was interested to see how I would feel about them, so I found a pair of boot cut jeans that were under $30 so I could test the waters. I have to say, the moment I put them on I was a little worried but once I added a shoe I instantly loved the look. I realized that when wearing boot cut jeans my top needs to be semi form fitting and not too long because there was already enough flair at the bottom of my legs. This particular pair fit like a glove and overall I am really happy that I tried this trend. It is nice to expand my denim horizons and add a whole new dimension to my wardrobe! This top is so soft and comes in 5 other colors, it is also under $30. Since Easter was super casual with my family it was a great choice and one that I will wear often! I kind of made up this braided headband hair look and it was really easy so I will post a video to Instagram to recreate!

Outside of my Fashion Box

Going outside of my fashion box is something I am always trying to do. I love to mix trendy pieces with staple pieces to stay current with what is happening with fashion at that moment. Crop tops have definitely been trendy and I could not see myself wearing one but being that I was doing the Whole 30 when I wore this outfit I thought there is no better time to embrace my body and try something new. This crop top was the perfect choice because it was not too short so with these high waisted jeans there was minimal midriff showing. This necklace is only $5.90 and I loved how unique it is, the stackable rings were only $6 too! The black denim fits like a glove and is only $69.

NYE Part I for Under $100!

The count down to the New Year begins! My birthday is at the end of the year so, for me, it is a new year and a new age all at once! 2015 has brought a lot of changes but I feel stronger and more focused than ever to achieve my goals. I hope you feel the same way!
With that I bring you my first NYE look. The second one will be posted early next week! This is a more causal look while the other is more dressy, and they both are under $100! Depending upon what your NYE plans are, I wanted to have some options for you to choose from. Of course sequins is a great way to ring in the New Year so they both have some shimmer and shine!
This top is SO fun, the black part is velvet with a sequins overlay reminding me of a mermaid! The contrast creates such an appropriately festive look! The bottoms are under $30 and fit is true to size. You have seen these pumps before but they are a great addition to this look! Links are below...Happy NYE Shopping!

Fedoras and Florals

By now, I think we all know that I am obsessed with a good floral print any time of the year, and this one is high on the list. I am loving the jewel tones along with the lace detail. I tied the top to make it more of a keyhole opening and added a lace bralette underneath. This wool fedora is the perfect fall accessory and perfect for rainy days like today! These black pants are one of my favorites, they are on the more expensive side but they will last at least 2-3 years if not more so they are a great investment! The navy booties are super comfortable and versatile, I went a half size up and they fit great. The links are below to purchase this whole look.

Red White and Denim

I am loving that overalls are making a comeback. They are so comfortable and easy to pair with anything in your closet. I added a red tank underneath and added blue and white espadrilles for the 4th of July. If you are bbq'ing with friends and family this weekend this is the perfect look for you. Click the links below to purchase any of these pieces.
