Happy Thursday! Taking the weekend to catch up on sleep, unpack and take down Christmas decorations was the best decision. I needed that time to recharge and refocus myself. After such an action packed trip it was necessary to have some me time. When my home is chaotic my mind feels the same and puts me in a bit of a panic. That is when I have to write out a to-do list and start checking boxes, it centers me and makes me feel better. Getting back into my clean eating habits has helped tremendously as well. Not having the control of deciding what my food options were forced me to be flexible in my eating habits. I was eating food that I would not normally eat which made my body feel tired and worn out. Food preparation for the week is key for me to stay in control and on top of what is going in my body. 

We went to the outlets when I was in Chicago and found this cozy poncho for an amazing price. It is one of those pieces that you can dress up or dress down and be super comfortable either way. Since it is a neutral you could even add a pop of color underneath! I love how it cinches at the waist and drapes so beautifully. It is long enough to wear with pants or leggings and it is a great piece to transition into spring! Wearing my Black Friday purchase on this rainy Tuesday! I got this scarf at the Ralph Lauren outlet for $20! It is so soft and warm, I love plaid anything right now so I know I will wear it all winter long! I paired it with my go to crew neck tunic top, black leggings and my Tory Burch riding boots. I could not find this exact one online but I found a few other similar scarves and linked them below as well as the rest of my outfit.

Sweater Over Dress

Happy Wednesday! I have seen people rocking the sweater over dress look and I was intrigued right away. I love trying new trends and finding new ways to wear the clothes I already have and I did just that with this look. I love all of these pieces individually so being able to wear this dress but in a new and unique way was so exciting! The floral is perfect for this time of year and it is only $25. I have said it many times before but I got this crewneck sweater last year and I have it in black and white because I love it so much. They both can be worn so many ways and they are staples in my winter wardrobe. These boots have quickly become on of my favorites, they are so comfortable and the color goes with almost everything! I have linked this exact look below but I bet, if you go in your closet, you will be able to recreate this look with what you have already as well! All you need is a shift dress, a sweater and your favorite boots.

Fall Basics

When the weather starts to turn cold there are two basics that are necessary to have for a very fashionable fall; scarves and boots! My selection of both are vast because I have them on rotation all winter long and I cannot ever resist a cute plaid scarf or the perfect riding boot! 1) My name is Holly because I am born 5 days after Christmas.

2) I am going to be a first time aunt in April and I am so exciting I can hardly handle it!

3) I grew up in Maryland and it is where I am currently but I lived on the west coast for 6 years.

4) I am the youngest of 3 - I have a sister who is 7 years older then me and a brother that is 4 years older then me.

A pencil skirt and a blouse are a classic combination for the workplace, I tend to dress a little more casual so I changed the look up a little bit. I paired the skirt with a long sleeve basic and some jewelry and I was out the door! Day Trippin' to DC

I have always wanted to see the cherry blossoms so we decided to take a day trip to DC the day after the cherry blossom festival. Upon getting there we noticed quickly that there were not very many in bloom and we were either too late or too early? Regardless we had a great day walking around site seeing, exploring and eating! The weather could not have been more perfect, DC is only about an hour and fifteen minutes from where I live so it was the perfect place to go to get out of town for the day and have some fun with some friends! This outfit was so comfortable, it was effortless and a classic. Sadly, this dress is now out of stock but I have linked it below along with a few others that are very similar!
