Gold and Stripes

I hope everyone had a great weekend! Mine was interesting for sure! The Women's March in DC was a great experience but left me with a lot of questions. I have seen so many opinions on social media about it and to be honest I can see all sides. But why do people feel like it is okay to bash people that do not agree with them? Lets all be respectful of each other and remember that there were so many reasons people wanted to march as well as not wanting to march so don't judge because you never know. For some people this is a scary time with uncertainty and for others it is an exciting time who see it as a new beginning. No matter how you feel I think everyone can agree that there is a lot that needs to change and taking a stand for what you believe in is an amazing start. Lets really make a change by following through with the momentum of the march and get involved. Know who your representatives are, vote on important issues and volunteer whenever you can. I will be looking for ways to get involved and make a difference on the issues that are important to me. If you have any resources please add a link in the comments for myself and anyone else that is interested in learning more!

This dress was perfect for the party I attended, you can never go wrong with a long sleeved dress this time of year. There are so many ways to wear and accessorize them! This dress was so comfortable and a great mix between casual and dressy. This one is from Forever 21 and only $12.90. It runs small so size up when purchasing! I linked it below as well as a few others that are under $20 and super cute! I also linked a similar necklace and booties (mine sold out)! Next time I wear this dress I am going to pair it with leggings, a long cardigan and riding boots as a casual look or to dress it up I will add a pair of pumps and a blazer!

Pops of Color

Monday came too soon...but thats okay because I had such a great weekend! I wore this outfit last week and it was so comfortable. This dolman sleeved ribbed cashmere top is so comfortable and at a surprisingly affordable price point! I will be wearing it all winter long, it is a great layering piece and you can even wear it off the shoulder! With such a neutral outfit I love to add a pop of color, and this time I decided on a monochromatic look. Burgundy is my go to color this fall so I am incorporating it into my outfits as much as I can! I have had these pants for a while now and I love having a lighter wash option. They are only $25 and fit true to size. Links to purchase this whole look are below!

I was nominated twice for 1) Best use of photo/still image and 2) best blog in the Mobbies 2016 Awards through the Baltimore Sun! It would mean so much to me if you could take a second and vote, you don't have to create a log in and you can just vote in those two categories if you want to!

Sunflower Fields

This past weekend Steve and I were checking out places to do our engagement photos and decided to stop by the sunflower fields down the street from my parents house. They are so stunning! It is such a great reminder of how beautiful Maryland is and how lucky I am to have grown up here. They go on for as far as the eye can see and I am so glad we were able to see them again this year!
Tie front tops are one of my current obsessions, they define the waist and help create an hourglass silhouette. The one I am wearing is from Forever 21 and was only around $12! Unfortunately I was not able to find it on their website to link for you guys but below I have linked a bunch of tie front tops that are perfect for fall below. All of them would be so cute with a skirt or high waisted pants, it is a great dressed up/casual look for a dinner date with your man or cocktails with the girls! I think I am going to have to snag the plaid one, it is so cute and would be great for any fall activity! It doesn't hurt that it is on major sale!
Check them out and click the titles below the photos to purchase!

Pretty in Pink

There is no doubt that any variation of the color blush is a go-to for me this summer, for some reason I am just drawn to it. When I saw that this dress was on sale for only $25 I ordered it immediately because it is such a flattering cut and I am all about the midi length these days! All you have to add are a few accessories and your favorite summer shoe and you are ready to go! The pleating on the skirt is such a great little detail and it flairs out just enough to accentuate your waistline in the most flattering way! This dress would also be totally appropriate for the workplace, just add a jean jacket or blazer and pumps. All you have to do is take off the jacket and switch out the shoes for happy hour with your friends! Links are below to purchase!

Back to Basics

As much as I love a good dress and heels there is something I also love about a basic tank top, jeans and heels. I was headed out to dinner with the girls and had not thought much about an outfit, put this look together and off I went. I knew this statement necklace would be the piece to add a little something to this look and this beautifully colored heel tied it together. I am all about being comfortable and this look is just that, especially since I was able to go braless! This tank is basically bodycon so it really holds everything in, it is only $30 and comes in white as well. It is also perfect for underneath other clothing in the colder months so this basic is a must have! These jeans are under $100 and such a great buy, they fit true to size and I have been wearing them all year round! These heels are flawless: the color, fit, feel, everything is just so perfect. They are definitely worth the price tag of $70.

Neutral in Florida

The last day of vacation is always bittersweet. I get sad the vacation is over and real life continues but I am happy I am leaving bronzed with great memories. I have PD (packing disorder), it runs in my family so we have created a term for it. I packed way too much stuff and ended up wearing the same white pants 2 out of the 3 nights we were there. I am so glad I grabbed them from Nordstrom before we left because I clearly really like them! The top is only $11 and comes in white also, it is not supposed to be tied like that, I just tried it and liked it! I wore it to work yesterday with black pants, flats and a jean jacket without tying it up so it looks cute multiple ways. These sandals are so comfortable, you can play with the look and lace them up (more to come on these babies in the near future!) in many different ways. They will match any look and work with pants, a skirt or dress! They are only $40 but really comfortable. Something about an all neutral look gets me really excited and I am going to need to do it more often!

Day Trippin' to DC

I have always wanted to see the cherry blossoms so we decided to take a day trip to DC the day after the cherry blossom festival. Upon getting there we noticed quickly that there were not very many in bloom and we were either too late or too early? Regardless we had a great day walking around site seeing, exploring and eating! The weather could not have been more perfect, DC is only about an hour and fifteen minutes from where I live so it was the perfect place to go to get out of town for the day and have some fun with some friends! This outfit was so comfortable, it was effortless and a classic. Sadly, this dress is now out of stock but I have linked it below along with a few others that are very similar!
